kooka-burra's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PitBulls I was watching something on the news about the Pitbull Ban in Toronto. Two people called in and left a message. One was an owner and said that pitbulls are fine and she has never been bitten by one. She has infact been bitten by little dogs. Thats the point. There is a reason we are banning these dogs. When little dogs or even medium dogs bit you they do it once (usally) and I think the worst it could do is a bandage on your hand for a few days. If a pitbulls has bitten you there jaws lock... they can't get off your hand. You can't pry them off. That is some seroius damage there. another woman said that the pitbull is an very dangerous breed that bite all the time and are not trainable. Where the fuck did you pick up that shit? Becuase it is the farthest from the truth. One - yes they can be a dangerous breed. Two - no they do not bite all the time. Three - Yes like every single dog they are trainable. And like everysingle dog they are only trainable when they are a puppy. so if you are trying to train a dog when it is full grown then... it's just not going to work. there minds are fully grown. so in conclustion this is what I think of pitbulls. When they bit I think they can be very dangerous. But then youhave to relize how much do pitbulls bite? if they are not trained properly then i am sure they would bite just like everysingle other dog. A friend of mine (Peggy) had a yellow lab, he wasn't trained at all and one day bit a womans hand (it was the woman falt because she asked peggy if she could pet her dog and peggy said no. But the woman pet the dog anyway.) My other friends (Rachel) dog. I was with in the car and I was petting her, I pet her on the tummy which i didn't know she didn't like and she nipped me, leaving a very small scratch. A friend (Rebecca) from camp. Rescued a half Pitbull half something else when he was a puppy. trained him and is the nicest dog she has ever met. one day he was jumping up trying to catch a tree branch (still on the tree) jumped up and didn't come down. His jaws locked even though he didn't want them to and they had to climb up into the tree to get him off. Funny no? now. replace that pittbull with with peggys lab. when he had bittin the woman she would have had alot more damage done. And that is why I understand the ban. But I don't really support it. These dogs and all the other dogs in the world have to be trained to be safe. But some people like criminals or people who just didn't train them have gotten a hold on them and that is very dangerous. Now I have spoken my peice and thats that.
